These t-shirts were done for David Yakoma of somewhere in Zambia. He approached me very nicely and kindly asked me to design him some t-shirts but he wouldn’t be able to pay me very much. He told me he wanted to sell t-shirts in order to get his kids through school—which may or may-not be a complete pile of poop—but I agreed to do the work for free. If I was indeed lied too, I can at least keep living with a good conscience knowing I was only trying to help someone out.
Ninjo was inspired by ninjas and the disco era. I wanted to create a super-funky display font that was easy to manipulate and play with. I used this opportunity to hone my skills in type design software and open-type programming, making many mistakes and corrections along the way. I am offering this display font for free, there will be a link at the end of this post. Enjoy!
